Reasons for High pressure cutout in Refrigeration plant.
In a refrigeration plant onboard ship there are various alarms and trips, that are used to safeguard the system from any major breakdowns. High pressure (HP) and Low pressure trip are the main to safety cutoffs in a refer plant. In this blog I will point out the reasons for high pressure cutouts and low pressure cutouts.
Below are the reasons for high pressure cutout in refrigeration plant in ship.
1. The first thing to check is whether the high pressure controller is acting normally or not.
2. Check the discharge valve is partially closed or not.
3. There may be some air which is not condensated which should be drained out.
4. The condenser may be scaled.
5. Cooling water for the condensate is not given properly or condensate pump is not working properly.
Below are the reasons for low pressure cutout in refrigeration plant in ship.
1. Low pressure controller is acting in properly.
2. Suction stop valve of the compressor is partially closed.
3. Less refrigerant.
4. Suction strainer mesh is clogged.
